APAC Forum 2017 keynote speaker and terrorism survivor Gill Hicks has praised the response to the recent terror attack in London and called for solidarity.
Ms Hicks, who will address this year’s forum in Australia’s Gold Coast , was seriously injured while on an underground train in the London bombings of 2005 – losing both her legs below the knee.
Now an international speaker and Australian of the Year 2015, Ms Hicks said ordinary people were immediately on the scene at Westminster Bridge to help victims mowed down by a lone driver who then killed a police office at the Houses of Parliament.
She also praised authorities for their response to the crisis, according to an Australian Associated Press report
Calling for solidarity she said that the great tool of terrorism is fear.
Ms Hicks will share her remarkable story of survival as a keynote speaker at APAC Forum 2017.
