The “Faster Cancer Treatment” programme aims to improve the quality and timeliness of services for cancer patients. Through this project, the proportion of patients with a high suspicion of cancer
who received treatment within the Ministry of Health 62 day target increased from 71% to 90%. The proportion of patients seeing a specialist within 14 days increased from 25% to 88%. Waiting
times have reduced from an average of 22 days to just 9 days. By adopting a one-stop approach and a sustainable new clinic template, the team are now aiming to treat 85% of patients within 50 days.
