Johnathan M. Lancaster
Dr. Johnathan M. Lancaster is the Chief Medical Officer at Myriad Genetics. He is a gynecologic oncologist and healthcare executive with expertise in molecular genetics and personalized medicine. Dr. Lancaster joined Myriad in February of 2015 from Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL where he was the President of the Moffitt Medical Group Corporation and Chair for the Department of Women’s Oncology. In his leadership roles he has developed a significant interest in value-based purchasing in healthcare and was instrumental in the development of one of the first oncology ACOs.
Dr. Lancaster graduated medical school at the University of Wales, United Kingdom in 1992 before starting OBGYN residency training at Cambridge University. He subsequently moved to the USA and earned two research doctorates in molecular genetics. He completed his OBGYN residency and gynecologic oncology fellowship at Duke University. Over the last 20 years, since leaving medical school he has served as Medical Director of three hospital-based clinics and centers, Program Leader of Gynecologic and Breast Oncology, Department Chair, and as the President of an oncology Medical Group Corporation.
Dr. Lancaster has twenty years’ experience in cancer research, focused on the molecular genetic underpinnings of cancer development, progression, response to therapy and survival. He has published more than 90 cancer-focused research papers as well as several book chapters, and has lectured on personalized medicine throughout the world.
