Many thanks to the healthcare students who attended the first Ko Awatea Student Chapter meeting for 2013.
It was an opportunity for students to shape the Student Chapter, develop ideas, learn from leading healthcare professionals and discover the many benefits of becoming a member.
“Thanks for taking the time to be here today,” says Kim Wiseman, Manager Centre Workforce and Leadership Capability. “You are the future of healthcare and we are keen to hear from you.”
Guest speakers included David Grayson, Clinical Lead 20,000 Days who spoke about the 20,000 Days campaign, and the great work taking place across the sector to give back 20,000 healthy and well days to the community.

Angela Lim a 4th year medical student spoke of the importance of good communication and working together – across the disciplines when implementing change.
“The Student Chapter will give you the confidence and skills around working as a team, building relationships, leadership and communication,” says Angela.
“Your input is vital in ensuring we get it right for the future and for the students who follow.”
