As partners, Ko Awatea and Public Health Wales we are able to work off each others of skills, experiences, and perspectives and bring these to a better healthcare table. We are committed to working cooperatively to evaluate our efforts and improve outcomes for patients. Ko Awatea is also pleased to be working with Sir Mansel Aylward the chairman of Public Health in Wales and is in New Zealand as a guest of Counties Manukau District Health Board, working on a programme for innovative health solutions in South Auckland. He is part of a growing international movement that is changing the way the world looks at healthcare. At its core is a realisation that illness has less to do with external factors like contracting disease than it does with the make-up of our minds and our communities.
About Public Health Wales
Health in Wales is the website of National Health Service (NHS) Wales, and brings together information sources about the health and lifestyle of the population of Wales. NHS Wales provides services ranging from smoking cessation, antenatal screening, and routine treatments for coughs and colds to open heart surgery, accident and emergency treatment and end-of-life care. The NHS in Wales is the responsibility of the devolved Welsh Assembly Government
The ambition of Public Health Wales is to achieve a healthier, happier and fairer Wales. This is a vision we share with our stakeholders, but we can only do it by working together. Public Health Wales provides an expert public health resource as part of the NHS in Wales. Our purpose is to give people power to protect and improve health and wellbeing and reduce inequities by informing, advising and speaking up for them.
