After attending three APAC Forums, Rashad Massoud is now something of a veteran.
Dr Massoud, director of the USAID Applying Science to Strengthen and Improve Systems project, says the first two forums were enlightening and he jumped at the chance to return for a third.
“Probably the most valuable part is connecting with colleagues and friends and maintaining the relationships we have which are extremely valuable for our work.”
He hopes delegates left his sessions; Improving Healthcare: A Global Overview, and Interviews with Great Leaders feeling that
“[improvement] is doable, and that we are able to make healthcare better and we can certainly use scientific approaches to do that.”
Asked to define improvement, Dr Massoud, who is also Senior Vice President at the Quality and Performance Institute at University Research Company said: “It would be taking the best medicine that we know and organising care delivery in such a way that the best medicine we know happens for every patient, every single time it is needed.”
