On Monday 26th May, Ko Awatea had the pleasure of hosting Shelley Nowlan, District Executive Director of Nursing for Central Queensland Health Service.
Shelley spent the morning with some of the key people from the Ko Awatea team (Jonathon Gray, Haidee Davis, Kim Wiseman, Diana Dowdle, Caroline Tichbon) learning about Ko Awatea in general, the work we do and why we do it, Grow Our Own Workforce and the 20,000 days Campaign and Beyond. Shelley was then taken on a tour of the Kidz First Facility by Denise Kivell, Director of Nursing before finally meeting with Renee Greaves and Ria Byron about the Patient Experience programme.
“I found the time with Shelley very insightful into how they are trying to now incorporate parts of co-design into newly designed hospital, what her concept thoughts were and how they can apply lessons learnt from here”
– Renee Greaves, Patient Whanau Care Advisor
